Car rental on Kiawah Island?

I%26#39;ve got to leave my golf group early and go to Hilton Head. I need to rent car on the island but can%26#39;t find any rental agencies. Are there any on island or do I have to go to the airport?

Sorry, you%26#39;re not going to find any car rental agencies on Kiawah as it is pretty much a gate community with limited commercial business (e.g. The Sanctuary Hotel).

You shouldn%26#39;t have to go all the way back to the airport. Hertz has an offsite location some where.

I did a quick google search ';Johns island, SC rental cars';--there are several big rental companies located in West Ashley along Hwy 17 (which is the road most folks take to get to KI).
