Would you recommend the breakers or sea view condos? ocean front, location to amenities, and price are a factor, also I heard no elevator at breakers, so accessibility is an issue. thanks for your help

Sea View??? I really don%26#39;t know of any complex here with that name. Breakers has no elevator.
If you want a less expensive but nice complex, look at Island House or Hilton Head Beach and Tennis. both are in the folly field area, and not near Coligny.
On the Island cheap and oceanfront means slumlike.

thanks for your quick response. I am an idiot, the condos I meant were Sea Side Villas, south forest beach. I have a couple of listings that state totally remodeled, pictures look good, about 750 for 8 nights. Also got a posting for palmetto dunes, ocean cove club. 1000 for 8 nights, looks beautiful, 2 bedrooms, though we only need one. Breakers units about same $ as SeaSide, and looked at some saying remodeled. Are Breakers and Seaside better location than Palmetto Dunes? PD unit is on oceanfront too. Thanks for any more info.
We stayed at Sea Side Villas in the first week in September through TAN (Travel Advantage Network - sort of a timeshare, not really, but that%26#39;s for another thread). I have to say we%26#39;d go back in a minute. The room wasn%26#39;t a Hilton, but it was clean, there was cable TV in the bedroom and living room, nicely set up little kitchen, but we lived on the balcony. Balcony has a ceiling fan, but it was cool enough with the breeze to simply sit out there. Spent days on the beach (which was clean and nice, plenty of room), occasionally dipped in the pool (small, but who cares with the ocean out there), and all in all it was a great beach vacation. Walking distance -- a few blocks, maybe 5 to 10 min -- to Coligny Plaza, which had a couple of nice restaurants and a couple of good bars (Frosty Frog was a bit cluttered seeming on the inside, but it has good food at good prices and GREAT cocktail smoothies). Who could ask for more? If you want rousing nightlife, this isn%26#39;t the place for you. If you want spacious rooms and vases of flowers that are not dusty silk affairs, this is not the place for you. If you want a clean and inexpensive place to have fun on a beach vacation, it is.
We had a 1 br, which turned out to be quite small, yet adequate. When you come through the front door, you enter into your bedroom. That took some getting used to aesthetically, but we decided %26#39;who cares.%26#39; When you walk through the bedroom from the front door, you go up a little hall past the bathroom into the kitchen/dining room/living room area, then out glass doors to balcony. Like I said, it was not a four star feeling, but it was very comfortable. There were only two of us, and it suited us just fine. We liked Sea Side Villas a lot.
One word of warning, though: it seems that the units are owned by private individuals, by time share type vacation clubs, and by god knows who else. Do your homework. We saw a unit that looked like it was privately owned and not as well maintained as ours. We saw units that were fancier. We%26#39;d go again because we have come to trust the way the TAN organization handles their units in this building, so be sure you get references so you know you%26#39;re renting from someone who takes care of theirs. But even if you get one that%26#39;s not great, the beach will certainly make up for it.
