Open containers ok?

I know I am going to sound like a lush but I really am not a big drinker! Can you have open containers of alcohol on the beach in MB? If yes, bottles ok? I know some places that prohibit open containers are actually a little lax on enforcement as long as you are discreet...pouring into a cup etc. Just looking to see what the deal is in MB. Thanks!

It is illegal to have alcohol on the beach. As long as it%26#39;s in a cup or can with a cozie on it you%26#39;d probably be fine but I strongly suggest no glass bottles. They will get you for that if they see it. You can%26#39;t have glass on the beach for obvious reasons

If you are discreet, probably OK. BUT++ you cannot unbreak a bottle, glass containers are just too dangerous. I spend part of every daily walk on the beach picking up trash left by inconsiderate people.

While I do not own the beach, it is my front yard when we are in our condo. Please, everyone, treat it like you would your own front yard.

Ok thanks, no bottles! Don%26#39;t worry about me and my family, we were raised to leave the area better than we found it!

Sage advice, no matter what the activity ! If we could only get the smokers to adhere to this philosophy.

The above comments are my feedback also. Don%26#39;t draw attention and you can sip to your heart%26#39;s content.

Have fun !

Keep it under wraps and you will be fine. A Cozie is a must and you will be OK. Just don%26#39;t make it obvious and they will leave you alone. Good calls on the bottles, cans only.

Yes, the key is to be discreet.

As everyone has posted discreet is the key. It is against the law to have any open container including a cup but we do it every time we go.

Just keep it covered and act like you have some sense and you should be fine.
