Columbia Photo shoot

I%26#39;m heading to Columbia for college tours. While I%26#39;m in town I would like to take photos. I know the governor%26#39;s mansion needs reservations. I would like to take skyline photos as well - is there a parking garage with a view? I was disappointed the historic home tour won%26#39;t allow photos according to their website. Any suggestions on good spots? Thanks for your help!

Try the historic Horseshoe at the University of South Carolina. Then go over to the Statehouse grounds...

It%26#39;s been a while, but there is a park off of Huger Street and you%26#39;ll find some great places for photography.

I%26#39;d also suggest going down to the riverfront park area in West Columbia - there is a walking/biking path where you could probably get some good shots of the city, the river, and the Gervais street bridge. There is parking near the New Orleans restaurant.
