i%26#39;m back checking into where the best spot would be to stay with the following in mind-

less than 5 miles east or west from historic downtown (coming from alabama) (but not in downtown because prices are too high) with a price range around $90-130 that has good reviews and is safe, clean that has shopping/dining right near the hotel(within short walk). wanted cont bfast, swimming pool, and free parking. hampton inn isle of palm connector seems too far out and around 140.00. springhill suites seems like a good one but nothing within a short walk. anyone have any good suggestions? really hard to make up my mind since this is a first time visit. thanks a bunch!

You are describing Mt. Pleasant%26#39;s Towne Center to a ';T';. Modern, clean, safe, it%26#39;s even on the bus line to the city so you can leave your car parked for free and take the bus in if you wanted to.

It%26#39;s not too far out at all, and everything is walkable. Did you try calling the hotel directly? They might have deals. There are a couple of hotels right at Towne Center and one at the Seaside Farms shopping center - also has shops (not as many). Anything closer in will be either more expensive or in disrepair (and not really walkable to the selection you%26#39;d have in Towne Center). Plus, TC has a movie theater and is a quick 3-min ride to the beach.
